TEACHING PRACTICUM II
ADVANCED ENGLISH I
TEACHER GIOVANY BLANCO
Today’s class was really interesting because the all of the students participated in the class, and they were enjoying it because they were laughing and participating a lot, but I was sad because it was my last class in that group. It was the last class in teaching practicum II.
• Something that I want to describe about the lesson that went well was that the Ss were participating actively in the activities I carried out to the classes. I was motivated to work with them because they showed interest in the class. They were creating stories using adjective clauses.
• Something that didn’t go well was that some students arrived late to the class and I felt uncomfortable for it because they were irresponsible. Another thing was that a student arrived to the classroom to ask for permission because he had another activity to do, but he took the material I had to teach that class while I was doing the warm up. When I finished the warm up, looked for my material that was on a desk, but it was not there. Some of the other students called him, but he did not answer the phone. It was terrible for me.
• I felt I got the objectives of this lesson because at the end of the classes all the students were participating creating their stories using adjectives clauses.
• I used to make the students understand the class. I used some copies, the board, markers, eraser, etc. I gave parts of some stories and they worked in groups creating good endings for those stories.
• I could manage the time well because I finished the classes at 4:40 exactly. All the activities I did were measured well and that´s why I did not have problem with the time I had.
• If I teach this lesson again, I will be really careful with the activities because at the end of the class, teacher Geovani told me that there was no connection between two activities I did during the class. And also I will teach grammar before doing some activities related to that topic because I did not explained grammar. I will also be very careful with my material because the problem I had in this class.

ADVANCED ENGLISH I

Today’s class was really interesting because the all of the students participated in the class, and they were enjoying it because they were laughing and participating a lot.
• Something that I want to describe about the lesson that went well was that the Ss were participating actively in the activities I carried out to the classes. I was motivated to work with them because they showed interest in the class, and I felt better when some of those students told me that my classes were nice and understandable. They were working in some activities related to passive voice.
• Something that didn’t go well was that some students arrived late to the class and I felt uncomfortable for it because they were irresponsible. Another thing was that I did not understand an activity planned in the lesson plan. I did not what to do, and I decided to use another activity instead of that activity.
• I felt I got the objectives of this lesson because at the end of the classes all the students were discussing about the use of passive voice. I understood that a teacher must be really prepared when teaching an advanced level because that group of students is demanded, and they also ask a lot of question during the classes.
• I used different kinds of materials to make the students understand the class very well. I used flashcards, pictures, the board, markers, and the CD player to do the warm –up of a class. I gave pictures of different objects and they had to talk about those pictures using passive voice. At the end one of each group passed to the front to talk about those pictures.
• I could manage the time well because I finished the classes at 4:40 exactly. All the activities I did were measured well and that´s why I did not have problem with the time.
• If I teach this lesson again, I will be really careful when working with passive voice because the students were a little confused at the beginning of the class, but later on they got the idea ..

This was another experience about teaching, and I was happy to teach again in Advanced level.
• Something that I want to describe about the lesson that went well was that all the Ss cooperated with me because they worked in all the activities. I felt good when I saw them working and participating in the class. I made them pass to the front to talk about things they had done during their vacations.
• Something that didn’t go well was that it was another teacher using the room in which we had the class. It was too late and the teacher did not stop teaching. I started the class at 4:05 and that is why I could not do the warm up I prepared for my students. I was worried because the time. I did not have enough time to develop all the activities I had prepared for the students and that is why I felt bad.
• I felt I got the objectives of this lesson because at the end of the classes all the students were participating in the activities. They were talking about some actions using passive voice. I thought it would be difficult to teach it, but at the end I realized that it was the opposite because the students understood the topic through some exercises I carried out to the class related to passive voice.
• I used different kinds of materials to make the students understand the class very well. I used flashcards, pictures, the board, markers, charts, etc.
• I couldn´t manage the time well because the activities took too much time. All the activities I did weren´t measured well, but it was because I started the class late.
• If I teach this lesson again, I will be really careful with time for the activities because the activities I did took too much time. I will also carry out more speaking activities than written ones to the class because I noticed that the students enjoy more the oral activities.

ADVANCED ENGLISH I

In this class, I was really motivated about teaching. I liked being with my students as always.
Something that I want to describe about the lesson that went well was that I tried to transmit enthusiasm to the students during the class. At the beginning, all the students were able to participate in my class. I tried to do my best when teaching as I learned from my teachers, and that is why the class was nice. We were working in two speaking and writing activities
Something that didn’t go well was that some students arrived late to the class and that´s why they could not understand some activities we did at the beginning of the class. Another thing that didn’t go well was that there were only five students in the classroom.
The students were bored for a while because they had to work in the exercises that were in the appendices. At the beginning some students couldn’t do the exercises, but later on, they understood the exercises and continued working in the following exercises without any problem.
I used some activities in the class, and some materials, but I didn’t use the board too much. I used charts, but I didn’t use pictures. They were working in their notebooks. They were performing a conversation in pairs, and then they passed to the front to say the conversation they created. They were also working in groups to develop an activity related to a reading I carried out to the class.
Students were on the task. They worked on oral and on written exercises practicing the structure taught in the previous class. They showed how much they had learned from the topic.
I could manage the time correctly, and I could work in all the activities I planned. The students worked in pairs. There were some students that had some problems at the moment of doing the conversations, but then they could finally work on it.
If I teach that lesson again, I will use more materials to make the students understand better. I will also vary the activities to do with the students because they weren’t enough. I will also try to considerate the space to do the activities, if it is enough for doing them or not.

Intermediate English I

It was my fifth week and I was happy because it was another experience about teaching.
Something that I want to talk about the lesson that went well was that I felt motivated because the students showed interest for the classes and as the other classes, they were participating a lot. I noticed that the students liked the way I was explaining the class because they were working in every single activity.
Something that didn’t go well was that the classroom was too small and there various students; I did not have enough space to do the activities.
All the students were involved in the activities. We were working in oral activities to make them practice their English. We were discussing about some wishes we have. They were sharing their wishes using would.
I used a few activities in the class, and some materials, but I didn’t use the board too much, and I didn’t use pictures. They were working in some summaries of movies in pieces of paper I carried out to the class.
I could manage the time very well, and I could do all the activities. The students worked in trios and in pairs. There were some students that could not understand some words from the summaries, and they started asking me for the meaning of those words and finally they could work without any help.
If I teach that lesson again, I will use a lot of materials because I noticed that when a teacher uses different kinds of materials, the students pay more attention and the class is more meaningful. I will also try to write some difficult words that appear in the book on the board and make them look for the meaning of each word. I will also try to make them give their own opinions about the reading that was studied.

This class was interesting because the students were running and pasting some words on the board at the beginning of the class. I thought that they could have problems because we were studying th. These things were kind of confused for them. We were studying the use of “going to”and “will” while they were working in groups, they were helping among them, and finally they could work in all of the exercises.
Something that didn’t go well was that the teacher asked me for working only in the grammar face. At the beginning, the students were a little bored and some of them were not focused in the class. Also some of them arrived late as always, and they did not understand what they had to do in the exercises.
I think that my objective was clear for the students because they were able to do all the exercises I asked them to do. They were able to create their own sentences using “going to” and “will”. I used a variety of materials during the class to make them apply the modals going to and will. I used some pictures in the class, and other visual aids to make the students understand the topic better. I wanted to use more activities, but the time was not enough.
The students were working orally the more because teacher Karen asked me for making them work in oral form because they do not like speaking English too much. While they were working in the exercises I provided, they spoke English because they were practicing some sentences with key words I gave them. I made them work in pairs, so that they shared their answers orally.
If I teach that lesson again, I will change some activities and some exercises because there were some activities that took too much time, and at the end, I could not finish them. Another thing I will do is that I will carry out more activities to the class to make it more interesting and funnier, and in that way students will be more focused and they will participate actively in all of those activities.
