TEACHING PRACTICUM II
INTERMEDIATE ENGLISH I
TEACHER ANA ELISA JIMENEZ
Today’s class was interesting because the majority of the students participated in the class.
• Something that I want to describe about the lesson that went well was that all I did in the class was understandable to the students and that they showed interest for the class. Another thing is that the students made me feel motivated because they told me that my classes are understandable and that they do not have any problem to get the idea what I have been explaining about. These things encouraged me to continue doing my best when teaching.
• Something that didn’t go well was that some students arrived late to the class and I felt uncomfortable for it because they were irresponsible. Those students did not know how to do some exercises about the topic I was teaching because they arrived late. During the class, they were asking me about the topic because they were really confused.
• I felt I got the objectives of this lesson because at the end of the class all the students understood the topic. After asking a lot of questions, they got the idea about the topic. I felt satisfied because they were asking a lot, and now I understand that a teacher must be prepared to teach a class.
• I used different kinds of materials to make the students understand the class very well. I used charts, flashcards, pictures, the board, and markers. I pasted pieces of paper with some illnesses on the board and all the students were repeating them. I also pasted the flashcards on the board and the students pasted the name of the illnesses below the flashcards.
• Today I could not manage the time well because It was 5:30 and I had not finished doing all of the activities I carried out to the class.
• If I teach this lesson again, I will be really careful with the time because I have to learn how to manage the time better and work in all of the activities I prepare to the class. I will also provide more flashcards to the class because the students were asking me for other illnesses and I did not have flashcards with those illnesses.

ResponderEliminarI can see that you are really enjoying your practicum. We are having the same problem with students arriving late to class. I hope that the teachers can do something to fix this problem. These students must understand that they are interrupting the class and disrecpeting the teacher and their classmates when they arrive late to class.

It is nice to know that after teaching for a period of five weeks at intermediate English you have learned new things from your experiences. Congrats for the nice work you have done with your students. Continue working hard teacher Edward : )
ResponderEliminarEdward, I can see that you were comfortable with your students in this class and that's very special and important for you because it tells you that not only you were comfortable, but also the students were able to participate and they worked in the right way with you.
ResponderEliminarAs you said, their teacher was not there, but they worked without problems with you. Something that really calls my attention is that your students told you that they liked you classes because they could understand everything you did and everything you explain to them.
That can be taken as your reward because the students are the most important part in a techer's work. They really value what you do because you work with them and for them.

Edward I know it is really difficult to continue teaching when some students arrive late,I hate that because sometimes you forget what you`re going say or then you have to repeat again the direction for those students. I think that we can tell them to come early to class because when we are teaching in that momemt we are the boss there. I think I`ll do it too.
